Igal Mayer is an accomplished visionary executive with more than 25 years of insurance sector expertise. As CEO of RATESDOTCA Group Ltd., Igal will help further position the company as a leader in digital customer acquisition for insurance and financial products. He is the founder of Shop Insurance Canada, now part of the RATESDOTCA Group Ltd.. family, and was the former CEO of Aviva Canada, Aviva UK and Aviva Europe.

Igal is an established leader with a long track record of creating customer value and delivering transparency and ease to consumers in the insurance industry. While leading Aviva’s UK business in the mid 2000s, Igal experienced first-hand how price comparison websites evolved the insurance marketplace. During his time, Igal introduced a revolutionary pricing model which led to record growth in Aviva’s car insurance business. In 2015, Igal founded Shop Insurance Canada with the mission to become an authoritative source for insurance information and quotes, and to deliver on his passion for transparency in the industry. Igal also led several mergers and acquisitions over the past 25 years, ranging from large Insurance companies to regional brokerages.

Igal is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Canadian Chartered Accountant, and an Honourary Chartered Insurance Professional. He holds an Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto.

As the Chief Financial Officer, Umair Suria leads all finance functions for RATESDOTCA Group Ltd. Prior to joining RATESDOTCA Group Ltd. in July 2012, Umair was a Senior Financial Analyst for Direct Energy. At Direct Energy, Umair worked on several $100 million plus merger & acquisition deals and consulted to all lines of business in North America on technical accounting matters. Before joining Direct Energy, Umair was a Senior Auditor for Ernst & Young LLP. Umair audited a diverse portfolio of large private & publicly listed companies. Umair holds the Chartered Accountant designation in Canada and Certified Public Accountant designation in Illinois, USA. Umair received the Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University.

As the Vice-President of Engineering Hub, Matt Lutzko leads the software as a service business and is responsible for delivering revenue performance and client satisfaction across the RATESDOTCA Group Ltd. organization. As a leader in online insurance solutions, Matt’s team supports over 25 clients, including several of the largest P&C and commercial insurance providers and brokers in Canada.

Matt joined RATESDOTCA Group Ltd. in 2001 not long after the company was founded and has experience in a variety of areas including technology, business development, operations, and data analytics. As one of the initial creators of the company's online system, he’s also had a hand in fostering the industry relationships needed to help it grow; bringing to market consumer-facing products and services; and, delivering industry leading data analytics to partners. With his breadth of experience in both insurance, technology and the online digital landscape, Matt has a unique understanding of what’s involved to successfully help clients bridge the gap between traditional insurance and the rapidly evolving technology landscape.

Prior to joining RATESDOTCA Group Ltd., Matt held several roles at Canada Life and was part of an online web development startup.

As Vice-President, Darryl May leads both the P&C and Financial brokerage divisions of RATESDOTCA Group Ltd., Scoop Insurance, and Scoop Financial. The Scoop Insurance team is based in Welland, Ont. and has grown to more than 300 people in a three-year period. With a focus on strategic growth through online channels and creating a true end-to-end digital experience, Darryl’s passion is leveraging technology to eliminate friction points in the customer journey and constantly improve engagement and value throughout the client life cycle.

Darryl takes pride, through Scoop, on nurturing mutually beneficial partnerships with more than 15 of Canada’s largest insurance providers through profitable portfolio growth and access to digital customer insights and acquisition. Darryl joined Scoop (formally known as KTX) in 2006 and has nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, progressing through a number of sales, underwriting and senior management roles.

Prior to RATESDOTCA Group Ltd., Darryl worked at TD Insurance as an analyst. Darryl has a CIP designation, is a graduate of Queen's University, and holds a MBA.

As the Vice-President of People Operations, Reygan Hale leads all human resource functions for RATESDOTCA Group Ltd. She advises at all levels of the organization with a strong emphasis on talent acquisition, employee relations and performance management. Reygan joined RATESDOTCA Group Ltd. in December of 2011. With her expertise in the human resources field, Reygan is a thoughtful leader who challenges the status quo. She is a results-oriented business partner who is able to leverage talent to drive the organization forward. Reygan’s experience spans many different industries in Canada as well as the United States. Her career has developed over the years with companies such as Workbrain Inc., Filogix Inc., Armstrong Pharmaceuticals and the PepsiCo.

Reygan is a graduate of McMaster University, and holds a diploma from Humber College for Human Resources Management and Services. She has also taken a number of other development programs including Harvard University’s Challenges of Team Management.

As the Vice-President of Insurance & Chief Underwriting Officer, Steve leads the P&C Insurance division and is responsible for the overall product strategy and day-to-day leadership. An accomplished insurance executive and actuary, he has more than 25 years of experience in the Canadian Property & Casualty industry in Pricing, Underwriting, Portfolio Management, and Customer Propositions. Prior to joining RATESDOTCA Group Ltd. in November 2021, Steve spent time with some of the largest insurers in Canada including Intact, Aviva and RSA.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Mathematics from Concordia University in Montreal.  He is also a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries as well as the Casualty Actuarial Society.
